Role Types

👥 Role Types

Every community role (tag) has a numeric roleType that says what kind of role it is. Role names are set per community and can be anything; the type is fixed. You see type on Roles List and affiliatedTag.roleType on Users List.

Code	Role Type	Description
0	`Admin`	Community administrator. Full access to the community and its settings.
1	`Moderator`	Can moderate content and members.
2	`Member`	Standard member. Communities may rename this role (for example "Customer" or "Alumni").
3	`Viewer`	Read-only member. Communities may rename this role (for example "Donor" or "Student").
20	`Custom`	A role the community created itself. Its permissions are defined by the community.

📌 Notes

When you assign a role with Add New Users to Community, pass the role's id from Roles List, not the roleType.

Use roleType to decide what a role is; use the role name only for display.
